This hotel is ideal for those looking for a cheap hotel that is clean and well maintained. The only drawback is the location, in that, it is at the top of a very large number of steps from the seafront at Porto Pi. This should only be a concern for those that are not relatively fit or are not willing to use public transport. ( the number 46 bus stops outside the hotel and will take you in or bring you back from Palma town). A taxi rank is situated opposite the hotel and costs €8 into the centre of town.The location does provide magnificent views across the harbour, where cruise ships dock daily. We had a superior room which was a little more expensive, but it did provide beautiful sea and pool views, had a jacuzzi, shower and hair dryer, a nice small balcony for two and was spotlessly clean. The Hotel Colon is not only great but that is a thousand times better than any 4 star hotel I have ever been . I recommend it 100%. The hotel has no bar, but has around many cafes and restaurants at a great price. It is conveniently located 10 minutes from the Plaza España , where the main bus station at a great price. The rooms are super big and new and excellent cleaning . I recommend , again without doubts .

We stayed in the Hotel Colon for just 1 night. We wanted to see Palma de Mallorca by day and by night, sleep over and go to the airport. This hotel served this purpose very well. Especially for the price we paid! The room and bathroom is very tiny – however very clean. This is very important to me. There is free internet connection in the room – which was nice. Personnel was very helpful, helped with getting around, directions and taxi to the airport. One full day is enough to see all Palma. I would suggest to anyone for short stays as ours.

We have been my husband , my two little girls, my sister and me at Easter. We got a huge room for us four, overlooking the bay, and to be of the standard was not bad . I guess the above are great. The buffet had to choose from for all tastes, even food "local"   sobrasada, and of course buns ! And baked beans for breakfast ... I say, for all tastes . The dining room is large and sunny with great views over the terrace and the bay. And the sun shines on it's more Ginka , head of dining .Kindness in person!   I loved the detail of the decoration with " robs llengües " ( feature patterned fabric Mallorca) Despite the cold we take a little while for the girls and I put my feet in the pool ... soak your feet looking Palma Cathedral is priceless.   The neighborhood is quiet , perfect for my taste, did not try if you like walking and the beach. With a little courage can walk to the center...

The H otel C olon is just a star, but is most worthy , is completely renovated, with simple but tasteful . The rooms are adequate, with the clean linen , TV , a good cooler that , lacking the hotel bar , is a champ , and a good sun coming towards the window in the morning. The area is very central and within walking distance of the Plaza Spain , communications hub for trains , buses (including the airport ) and metro. , a nd taking a walk is reached Borne, Cathedral, etc. . The bathroom and comfortable enough, with a good and spacious shower that occupies the space that formerly housed the bath, and good ventilation , super clean towels . I  stayed from 6 to 9 October 2011 , and, frankly , I again wonder, since it 's been years since I was staying in a hotel of a star.

A well run, clean, reasonably priced hotel with good wifi connection, room safe for laptops etc. air conditioning, TV and a small fridge. Could have done with tea making facility in room (we went prepared with our own travel kettle). Numerous cafes and bars along the road as well as a supermarket, all within 200 meters. The staff were friendly and helpful and all understood my language (English) The hotel colon is about 10 minute walk from Palma's main rail and bus station. The public transport here is cheap and very efficient a far cry from the UK where they want to rip you off at every move. We were on a hill walking holiday so the central location was essential. The hotel is about 45 minute ride, by bus, from the nearest beach. Would definitely stay here again.

Luis Ant Medina Excelentes personas, que llevan a cabo su trabajo de forma superprofesional, saben resolverte los pequeños y grandes problemas que se pueden presentar y con un valor humano extraordinario. Un abrazo para ese gran camarero y extraordinaria persona que es Juanito y para ese peazo cocinero que derrocha humanidad y profesionalidad por los cuatro costados que es el malagueño Nacho. Y un besazo para e sa encantadora responsable de comedor (que no se como se llama) que derrocha simpatía y cariño. Resumiendo: excelentes profesionales, extraordinarias personas que derrochan humanidad. Y un saludo para el resto del personal de este hotel que durante unos días nos han tratado y atendido como todos queremos que se nos atienda, como personas y no como clientes. Lo habéis conseguido. The room appeared to have been recently renovated. The staff were excellent and friendly. The hotel itself was very clean and the wireless internet was fine. They also sell bottled water in reception for a reasonable price. We found the location very convenient. An easy 10 minute walk from the train/main bus station from the airport. A nice side strip of nice restaurants within 5 minutes and a main street with a few coffee shops/average looking restaurants. It's an easy walk towards the Old Town and the Cathedral and more shopping. The popular train de Soller departs from right near the Hotel as well. The staff could have been slightly more knowledgeable about the area and things to do. Would stay here again.

Even though I had read lots of good reviews about Hotel Colon before booking I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the reception. It is modern and welcoming and the staff were always very friendly and even worked on Christmas day. The location is excellent, just ten minutes walk to Plaza España and it is surrounded by loads of great cafes and restaurants in clung Tast and Bar Mavi next door, which I definitely recommend. The rooms were spotless, modern and had a little study, fridge, TV and en suit. The bed wasn't the most comfortable but I wouldn't complain for the price. It was a little noisy at night but I think it's like that all over Spain.  My sister lives in Palma and the hotel is a 10 min walk from her flat so I will definitely be staying again. My sister tells me the hotel recently underwent a complete renovation so looks like now is a great time to stay.

We stayed in the Hotel Colon for two nights - on the first and last nights of our holiday in Mallorca . My partner and I were really impressed with it. Location is very good. It is only approx 10 min walk to the main bus/train station, and approx 15-20 min walk to the main shopping area,cathedral ,marina, along nice streets. There are a few cafes and restaurants nearby - definitely go to "Tasca" (owned by Mark Fosh) only 3 streets away - lovely food - and stop for a drink and snack in the 31 December bar / cafe 2 blocks away - great staff and reasonable drinks. Staff at the hotel were really nice, very helpful and friendly. On the day of our checkout, we didn't need to be at the airport until about 6.30pm. I was delighted that the hotel offers late check out of up to 6pm for a mere €15. This gave us the chance to do some more exploring / shopping before coming back to our room, packing, and showering.
