I stayed in the single room with a sea view on the 4th floor with half board. From my balcony I could see a part of the Porto Pi and the Cruiser ship, a part of the city of palma and the cathedral, also the landing and the take off of the airplane in the distance. There are a couple of buildings right in front of the hotel Horizonte, blocking some parts of the panoramic view but that didn't disturb me much. Probably if you stay on the higher floor you would have an undisturbed panoramic view. The hotel Horizonte was a nice surprise. On reading some feedbacks before the arrival, I had no high expectation towards the hotel. However my stay turned out to be a nice surprise! Cleanliness- although the facilities are old and some places needs to be repaired, the room and the common places were impeccably clean. Dieses Hotel befindet sich für mich in einer sehr ruhigen aber doch zentralen Lage ca. 10 Autominuten vom Flughafen. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich und kompetent. People do not realize they get what they pay for. Hotel is very good for a two star hotel. Breakfast in a nearby hotel is quite good, there is something for everyone. It is very close to the beach and airport, the hotel is clean, just a sincere recommendation that you take the safe. We had some trouble with the electricity, but it was quickly repaired. Wir (Mutter 59, Tochter 27)haben das Hotel Colon Ende Februar 1 Woche lang als ruhige, saubere Basisstation für unsere Inselausflüge genutzt. Der zentrale Bus-Bahnhof am Placa d`Espanya liegt fußläufig 5 Minuten entfernt. Am Weg liegen hervorragende Tapasbars und eine Bäckerei für`s Frühstück und Abendessen. Für uns Westfalen war der erste Empfang im Hotel etwas zu unfreundlich aber es wurde mit jedem Tag besser. Stayed 3 nights in May 201 3. Central location - easy walk to old town, railway station and cathedral. Clean and recently refurbished. Just spent a couple of days in palma, Bed was memory foam, very comfy, room was spacious and the entire hotel was the cleanest i have ever experienced. not far off placa espanja, which had buses and trains going to the rest of the island. We had to wait a little bit to check in because we arrived very early and check in is at 12 but we were offered a place to put our luggage. Hotel sencillo en cuanto a instalaciones, pero lo que tiene está nuevo ya que ha sido remodelado hace poco. Bien situado y comunicado, y algo muy importante es que en cuanto a la limpieza un 10. Wenn Sie nicht unbedingt vom Hotelzimmer ins Meer fallen wollen, ist das Horizonte genau das Richtige für Sie, weil es ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis bietet. Ich war vom 21.-24. Mai 2012 dort als Einzelreisender und hatte "upgraded" auf ein Single "Superior" - und dazu habe ich mich beglückwünscht. Da das Hotel hoch am Hang über Palma liegt, hatte ich von der 9. Etage einen fantastischen Blck auf die Bucht von Palma - und ich schwöre Ihnen, dass Sie sich daran nicht sattsehen können. Was ist noch zu sagen: ja, selbst in der 9. Etage funktionierte das Wasser einwandfrei, die Jacuzzi-Badewanne fand ich toll, die Matrazen waren genauso hart wie sie sein müssen und unter den Vorhängen gibt es zusätzlich dichte, lichtundurchlässige Vorhänge, sodass ich prima geschlafen habe - und das Frühstück ist reichhaltig und abwechslungsreich und mehr als ok. This was the 2nd time we have stayed at the Horizonte and I would definitely recommend it. The hotel may not be luxurious but it is comfortable, clean and in a fantastic location to explore Palma and also near to the lovely beach at Cala Mayor (Where the Spanish royal family have their holiday palace!) -the no 46 bus to the beach is outside the hotel and takes approx 10mins/ 3.75 euros for 2 adults and a child. A taxi into Palma is only approx 6 euros and again there is a taxi rank outside the hotel. The hotel has a viewing veranda that looks out over Palma bay where you can see the cruise ships and boats and also the cathedral. This is nice,clean hotel whit pleasent staff. I got room with view on the garden and it was really calm. Problem could be if you got room with view on the street because you need ear plugs. The hotel is near beach and bus station for Palma is close.Food is o.k and restaurant is clean. I've spent 10 days in hotel "Miraflores", during my summer vacation. It's a bit old-fashioned, but the first impression was very good. When you enter the hotel on the left side there is a lobby, straight ahead is a bar (billiar table, ping-pong, darts are free) and a (small) reception and, on the right is way to the pool. I got the room on the 1st floor, so it wasn't necessary to take a lift, which is also old-fashioned but it functions properly. I've stayed in a room with two separated beds (which, if you want, can be put together). Thee room was quite OK, very big with a great bathroom. The TV is included in price (but there are very few non-spanish channels) and an air-condition has to be payed. There is also a basic furniture (table, chair, mirror etc.). One small objection is for a telephone which was out of order for all the time I was there. The bathroom is very roomy, with a toilette, sink, a bathtub, even a bidet. All that was very clean. We stayed in the Colon for two nights - on the first and last nights of our holiday in Mallorca. My partner and I were really impressed with it. Location is very good. It is only approx 10 min walk to the main bus/train station, and approx 15-20 min walk to the main shopping area / cathedral / marina, along nice streets. There are a few cafes and restaurants nearby - definitely go to "Tasca" (owned by Mark Fosh) only 3 streets away - lovely food - and stop for a drink and snack in the 31 Decembre bar / cafe 2 blocks away - great staff and resonable drinks. Staff at the hotel were really nice, very helpful and friendly. On the day of our checkout, we didn't need to be at the airport until about 6.30pm. I was delighted that the hotel offers late check out of up to 6pm for a mere €15. This gave us the chance to do some more exploring / shopping before coming back to our room, packing, and showering. The room appeared to have been recently renovated. The staff were excellent and friendly. The hotel itself was very clean and the wireless internet was fine. They also sell bottled water in reception for a reasonable price.We found the location very convenient. An easy 10 minute walk from the train/main bus station from the airport. A nice side strip of nice restaurants within 5 minutes and a main street with a few coffee shops/average looking restaurants. It's an easy walk towards the Old Town and the Cathederal and more shopping. The popular Tren De Soller departs from right near the Hotel aswell.The staff could have been slightly more knowledgeable about the area and things to do. A well run, clean, reasonably priced hotel with good wifi connection, room safe for laptops etc. air conditioning, TV and a small fridge. Could have done with tea making facility in room (we went prepared with our own travel kettle). Numerous cafes and bars along the road as well as a supermarket, all within 200 meters. The staff were friendly and helpful and all understood my language (English) The hotel is about 10 minute walk from Palma's main rail and bus station. The public transport here is cheap and very efficient a far cry from the UK where they want to rip you off at every move.We were on a hill walking holiday so the central location was essential. Hotel recently reformed. Clean and well managed. Staff friendly and helpful. Rather noisy and the first night we stayed there the hotel had accepted a booking from a group of young men who held a party in the rooms and roof terrace above our room. This went on into the early hours and made sleeping difficult. The walls of the hotel are thin and we could hear talking and the television in the next room.The room we were allocated was very small but adequate. Just refurbed a couple of weeks before out stay, with lifts now isntalled and clean, airy rooms, albeit quite small. The downside was no fridge, but they kindly put my beers in the fridge at the back of reception. I couldn't get the internet to work but there was an unsecured connection nearby to piggyback on. Also there are no breakfast facilities, but the immediate area has a range of excellent cafes and bars, which also seem to stay open a bit later than much of the rest of the town. A great location, 6-10 minutes' walk from the station and bus terminal (and the lovely rickety 1920s wooden train to Soller) in an elegant area. El Hotel COLON está renovado desde este agosto, por lo tanto tanto el hall como las habitaciones tienen otro aire. yo había estado hacia muchos años y volví porque me enteré de la renovación. Todas las habitaciones tienen camas, muebles, armarios, ropa de cama, televisión y aire acondicionado totalmente nuevo. Los baños también están renovados. Hay habitaciones más grandes y otras más pequeñas. Muy bien situado si se quiere conocer Palma y alrededores . La playa también está cerca. El personal es muy amable. No ofrecían desayuno. No habia nevera en la habitación. En estos tiempos cuando todos estamos más o menos en un "crisis" económico y ya no podemos planear como hace años esos viajes de vacaciones con todos sus detalles, tenemos que buscar otras salidas, y una de ellas puede ser simplemete quedarse en un lugar donde estás pero en plan de vacaciones. Claro, alquien dirá:" Pero ,bueno, eso será como si no hubiera salido a ningun lado. Para pagar y estar a una hora o dos de mi casa, vale más que me quedo en mi casa!" Puede ser, siempre hay opiniones para todo, pero para una mujer por ej. con hijos y familia de que cuidar, salir de casa ya son como vacaciones. Si no, que me lo digan las madres que a parte de cuidar la compra , la limpieza, el menú de la semana, la ropa etc. etc. aun se tienen que estar con fuerzas de hacer su trabajo fuera de casa. Imaginanse llegar al hotel sin tener que preocupar ni de la limpieza, de la lavadora, de la comida o cena, nisiquiera de hacerlas...y además todo alrededor está en orden , con b...

-En primer lugar, las habitaciones son muy amplias, no dan sensación de agobio. Además, todas poseen terraza, en nuestro caso, nos tocó un 8ºpiso y las vistas a la bahía de Palma eran increíbles! El baño era grande, con bañera-jacuzzi, todo un acierto, desde luego. -En 2ºlugar, está bien situado, en zona tranquila, pero próxima al centro comercial Porto Pi, al puerto y a escasos metros del bus (eso sí, el hotel está en lo alto de una cuesta...,Así que hay que hacer un poco de ejercicio todos los días). -Calidad-Precio inmejorable. los desayunos atractivos, no faltaba de nada, para todos los gustos. -Acceso a internet gratuito (solo hay 4 ordenadores, pero rara vez hay alguno ocupado). -La piscina grande y muy limpia.
